So, if you want to hone your bunch skills and prep up those legs and lungs, this is ideal.
We'll post the schedule each week. You decide if you wanna turn up or not!

Far North Ride!
On the 16th of January a group of 12 riders tossed their sleeping bags into our van and departed on an adventure around some of Northland's best roads.
The first day we left Whangarei and rode via Dargaville to Rawene --175kms of native trees, melting tar and HILLS !.
After a great feed of fish and chips at the recently voted best fish n chip shop in NZ we hit the sack
The next morning we ferried across the Hokianga Harbour and rode up to Ahipara via Broadwood; across to Kaitaia and then around to Kerikeri: 165kms of hills and more melting tar. Great day with some idyllic roads for riding.
The final day we left Kerikeri and headed for Opua ferry which took us across the Paihia Harbour to Russell. From there it was simple: Another 125km to home.
We all had a great ride supported by Chris our mechanic, good food, a few beers and heaps of sunscreen and cramp stop.
This will be a annual event so watch this space.

Fat Dog Events, the best run events in the north.
Fat Dog Events is the competition arm of the team at Fatdog Cycles.
We endeavour to stage competitive, enjoyable and memorable events of all kinds that utilise the amazing, culturally significant and simply breathtaking natural resources that Northland has to offer. We are driven by the vision of revealing Northland as one of the best places to be an athlete of any kind, social, serious of halfway between. Cycling, adventure, kayak, run, we hope to bring it all.
Currently there are two main events. First is the DEAN REALTY Hell of the North, Northland’s biggest one day road race that is to be held on October 10 2010. We have added another course for 2010 giving people three distances to choose from. Second is the massively popular ALLENS NORTHLAND KIDS TRIATHLON that attracts a full field of 1000 entries every year.
